About the roles:
COXSWAIN
St Kilda Ferry looking for a casual Coxswain to work through late spring and summer with the
potential for ongoing employment for the right candidate.
Duties include but not limited to:
● Vessel operation
● Crew management
● Vessel maintenance
● Customer service
● Ticket sales and onboard purchase
● Onboard commentary
● Work under direction of Operations Manager
About you:
● Provides exceptional customer service by having excellent communication and interpersonal
skills
● Demonstrates excellent public speaking skills
● Ability to engage with guests on a personal level
● Understands and has a commitment to adhere to all St Kilda Ferry operational procedures
including OH&S
● Demonstrates a high level of attention to detail
● Ability to lead and work harmoniously within a small team
● Availability to work weekends and public holidays
● Be well presented and possess a friendly and professional approach
● Highly motivated and energetic
● Experience operating a twin jet vessel (preferred)
● Experience operating in the local area (preferred)
● Hold a current RSA (or willing to obtain)
Essential:
● Valid Coxswain Gr 1 NC Certificate of Competency
● Valid First-aid and CPR
● Highly developed interpersonal and solution focused skills to provide excellent customer
service
● Strong verbal communication skills
● Experience working well in a small team
DECKHAND/TICKET SELLER
St Kilda Ferry is looking for a Deckhand/ticket seller to join our team.
The role will commence mid-late spring, regular work will be available throughout the summer with
possibilities to work throughout the year for the right candidate.
Duties will include but not limited to:
● Customer service
● Ticket sales and onboard purchase
● Working under direction of the Master and Operations Manager
● Maintenance and cleaning of the vessel
● Daily set up and pack down of ticket stand
● Safety briefings
● Onboard commentary
● Lines work- tying up vessel and lowering and stowing of gangplanks
About you:
● Provides exceptional customer service by having excellent communication and interpersonal
skills
● Demonstrates excellent public speaking skills
● Ability to engage with guests on a personal level
● Willingness and enthusiastic to learn and follow St Kilda ferry’s Operational procedures
including OH&S
● Demonstrates a high level of attention to detail
● Ability to work harmoniously within a small team
● Availability to work weekends and public holidays
● Be well presented and possess a friendly and professional approach
● Highly motivated and energetic - ready to learn
Essential:
● Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service
● Confidence in public speaking
● Hold or willing to obtain a Victorian RSA
